I never knew, balance trailer tires for mileage?

Balancing has no effect on mileage. If it does, it's so negligible that you won't pick up on it in your mileage calculations.

Never purposely had a trailer tire balanced, never had felt I had to. One time I bought a set of new trailer tires and the shop balanced them. I really could not tell the difference.
