I have tires balanced on our 5V, if for no other reason, this lets me know about the integrity of the tire(s) and wheels.
* I always am positioned to where I can see the run out of the tire (& WHEEL) on the balancer when Discount Tire balances my tires, (do this on all tires).
* If tire (or WHEEL) has excessive run out, I asked for it to be replaced.
* Also, I will not accept a tire that takes more than 4ozs of weight (placed close together) to balance tire.
* I am fudging a little on the weight, max tire weight was 3.5ozs on tires back in the 70's.
* Buying a tire that takes globs of weight in one area is probably a guarantee that you are buying trouble down the road.
