I traded the truck in at 7 years and 170k miles. Replaced the EGR valve and cleaned it another time which caused drive ability issues, but took a whopping 30 minutes to replace. It performed really well and took the family in it everywhere. I even preferred driving it over the wifes vehicle when going just about anywhere.

Hind sight 20/20 I wished I would have transferred it to our ranch hand instead of purchasing a 05 dodge cummins. Which btw had more engine issues at 120k miles (all 6 injectors replaced, cracked exhaust manifold).

My father has an 03 duramax. Think he is finally up to 135000 miles. Needs some injectors and a rear fender. I reskinned the dually box last summer and it only took about two months to give it the kiss that assures it's his. Otherwise it runs fine. We only use it for work related use, pulling a flatbed with a dozer or mini excavator.
He pulls the camper with a 12 duramax with 115000 ish miles. Still like new as he bought with nearly 100k on it but you wouldn't know it. For a time we had identical trucks as I had the exact same one in red and his is black.

Sorry, haven't had any of those problems. You must be thinking of some other brand.

2007 Silverado 6.0 2500 HD 135,000 miles still running like new!!!! At 100,000 new plugs and wires, Oil changes every time it tells me to. Air filter one a year but doesn't need it that often. Zero leaks and you could eat off my motor kept so clean. I was just about to buy a truck but decided to keep her another 2 years

Had 400,000 on my '00 Silverado 1500 4x4, when we decided (on this exact date in '13) i needed a more "mom/grandma friendly truck", I bought a '02 Yukon with 126,000 (not even broke in lol).
My husband was shocked at how upset I was to get rid of my Silverado. I sold to SIL, he drove it for a year and actually asked my permission to sell it for 'non-gashog'

Well my 09 Ford F-250 is not as old or have as many miles (68k) but the 6.8L V-10 and the 4.10 rear behind the 5sp TS auto is a dream to drive. Never done anything to the motor but oil and filters. My wife keeps telling me I'm going to need another one when I retire but I just ask her why?

03 GMC 2500HD bought new in 02. 137,000 miles. New injectors and new Michelins. Now I gots me a brand new truck!
