It has been a hard thing for us to do over the years in keeping our camping footprint on the smaller scale. With all the appliances and electronics all available it is very easy to want to carry your whole home with you on the trips...
My OFF-RoAD POPUP as small as it is has all the moderns appliances including indoor cassette potti and shower and being a POPUP very low wind resistance is very easy on the MPG numbers. My F150 truck actually doesn't even know the 4200LB trailer is behind it. I almost get the same gas mileage whether I am pulling my POPUP trailer or not.
The only things we miss out on is inside move around room in the trailer but our answer to that is we get to enjoy what the outside offers even more...
Almost went with the larger trailer with hard sides over the years but still am pulling my off-road POPUP trailer... It certainly has its perks...
My off-road POPUP trailer will go anywhere my 4WD truck will go and is surprisingly comfortable for the the two of us...
