If price was not a consideration, Gas or Diesel?

GAS vs Diesel??

You first have to answer the question ? why you are buying a truck, to tow a RV or not to tow an RV! If the truck wil be towing approximately %50 of the time, then go with diesel. If you are only towing 1 or 2 times a year, then go with gas. Another advantage to diesel is having a "Exhaust Brake" which makes you RVing safer. Be aware, you can't buy a regular auxiliary fuel tank that is built in your truck for a gas engine. Yes there are some auxiliary fuel tanks for gas but there are not the same as a diesel built in tank. Check Transfer Flow in Chico Calif. I am now on my 3rd diesel fuel tank from Transfer Flow. The make and instal the tanks in 1 day.

if the truck is going to work? diesel .if just a pretty thing in the drive that pulls the rv a few times a year gas.

For TC use I would definitely go with a gasoline truck. My TC weights just under 5K, don’t tow anything heavy and my truck sits in the garage from December to April.

The only gasoline engines I have in my fleet are in generators and pressure washer.
Even I pay more for diesel sedans, I like driving 800 miles without need for fueling.
Still shopping around for diesel generator in 3000W range.

After driving a diesel for 9 years I would rather fight than switch. I bought it for towing, not a grocery getter

Gas. Somewhat easier to purchase.

"IF" purchase AND maintenance AND costs were equal ... of course that's hypothetical ;) Then cold temperatures and long sitting periods would still favor the gas engine. Most other factors I'd still give to a Diesel engine.

If I was concerned about the cost of fuel I would go with gas...otherwise definitely diesel for longevity. My diesel truck sits at 2000 RPM while cruising down the highway at 65MPH.
