If U tow a TT, Do U have a tonneau or shell and bed slider?

Purchased my new to me 2016 ORV TR 280RKS (travel trailer)!
Family and I are excited as all get out!!!

Preparing my truck for local and long distance tows....trans cooler, all new hoses, belts, SS brake lines, etc.

Now I want a place to securely store my fishing rods, generators, supplies, etc.

Considering a topper/shell and/or a tonneau.

What do you guys/gals use to securely store your stuff on your truck?

Also, brands, styles. models, etc?

The style topper/shell that has double rear opening doors (rear truck tailgate removed) is really nice! Excellent/easy access to bed.

Also, I am considering a sliding bed storage device with the tonneau and/or topper....to slide out and access all of my stuff easily. Much easier than climbing in/out of truck bed!

Also, brands, models, styles, of these as well.

Thanks!

I have a trifold locking hard cover over my current truck bed. last one had a vinyl tonneau cover. Both work fine for me. I need to often load a dirt bike in the trailer and either works with that. with the trifold, it folds upright on struts to fully expose the bed.

really depends on what you want and need. look around and decide.

Yes thats a good point.. I often haul dirt and stuff with my truck so a cap dont work for me.. My trifold flips back nice is needed. I can also remove it when needed with two thumb screws at front.. Rears are auto latch style..

Note too. I remove mine in winter under snow conditions as I dont want to wreck it or bend it from a snow load...
  • With the 350 I would do the cap as the weight of it will not affect payload as us 1/2 ton guys...

This way you can do bikes and stuff that are tall..

I myself have a trifold soft cover..

But dont get any of these for fuel savings as its really not measurable IMO..

A misnomer are the guys running with the tailgates down to save fuel.. Its the opposite from my findings. The tail gate down creates a drag/vacuum at the rear and may use more fuel..

I put mine on for the look...

I like this look with the fords...

    Bedslide, inside.

what brand/model cap and bed slide?
  • I had a couple fiberglass window caps, looked very nice but easy to break in to switched to an ARE aluminum cap with no windows with the double doors no tailgate wasn't broken into as the others were. Why break in when there may not be anything worth while. Pulling a 5er now and getting a tonneau rollback tor the truck.
