My DW used IKEA blackout roller shades at her office for privacy.
They were easy to install and did a great job.

If you're going to replace your shades, this is an excellent choice.

I've got dizzy watching the video. (it it Saturday night afterall)
When I agree that day/night shades, or blade shades are high-maintenance items, they do offer several options that IKEA stuff does not.
To each of their own.

That looks like it should darken things up a bit and provide better privacy.

What is an MCD shade?

I cannot do a comparison but I do know that when they are down, no light comes through. They are great and even better when at rest areas with lots of lights where the day/night shades still let light through.

Do they compare to MCD shades?
