I think many mods are necessary to get the RV to the level it should have been when it left the manufacturer. They leave out basics... like a toilet paper holder. Really? A toilet but not toilet paper holder? Many mods are necessities, then there are the things just for fun.
Reading these forums will also make your future mod-to-do list grow. :)
I'm trying to think of the mods I've done:
- 2nd AC
- toilet paper holder, hand towel holder, extra towel hook
- replace bathroom door knob for one with a lock
- lift on trailer to get the rv level w/ truck (standard height)
- steadyfast stabilizers
- oxygenics shower head
- progressive industries power/surge protector (built in)
- added TV in bedroom
- added TV in bunkhouse
- swapped out all ceiling ac vents for ones that are adjustable and can be closed (bunkhouse was freezing)
- added a 12v fan in the fridge to circulate air
- two 6v deep cycle batteries
- memory foam mattress toppers
- added support under drawers to keep the bottom from dropping out
Two that are sitting here waiting to be installed:
- Maxxair deluxe fan for kitchen vent
- Stromberg Carlson EZ Open door handle
On the future list:
- in a year or two upgrade to Carlisle Radial Trail RH tires because of high speed rating (yes, hate me for not wanting to drive really slow)
People that mod their trailers are the people that others should be happy to buy from because the RVs are upgraded and usually well maintained.
