Cost will win out over quality for many because they do not feel they can justify a more expensive TT for a few trips a year.
It is no different than golf clubs, fishing gear, bicycles, musical instruments and a host of other hobbies. When you are not sure, you are hesitant to spend a lot.
Also, they all look good in the showroom, it is over time that the cheaper material show up.The fact that the resale value drops like stone in water does not help either.
I am sure the manufacturers would love the markups on a more expensive unit, but they make what sells.
