I'm new to the TC world

we have an outfitter, a 2015 juno 10. love it and zero issues so far. i'm sure you'll love yours. steve_in_29 is a very knowledgeable outfitter owner around as well.

Hi Kathe,
If one intends to stay in one spot for awhile many of the other RV's are OK, but iffen you wish to roll on and wander in the wilds the TC's the ticket, we found.

...another Outfitter owner here: Caribou 8 (long-bed configuration). We've had the Outfitter for almost 12 years now, and expect to have it for perhaps another decade+.

We have done several camper shell upgrades (all of which are illustrated in this Forum over the years). In fact, I am typing this response from the Outfitter now (when not camping in it, I use it as my office over the spring/summer/fall).

Hello KatheK -- I too am relatively new here on this forum but not too new to TC. We have a 2006 Outfitter Apex 8 SB on a 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 CTD. I've done a fair bit of repairs, work and modifications on the Apex 8 and while I don't admit to knowing it all (by far), I'm willing to help whenever I feel I can.

Just do the normal RV checks you would do on any used RV then check for smooth operation of the mechanism to raise/lower the pop-up. When the pop-up is down and latched, look at the seal and for any gaps between the upper section and lower camper structure. Make sure everything is even and straight on the upper to lower seal. Pop-up and down should be smooth and easy.

Hi Kathek... Like you, we've just changed from a travel trailer to a truck camper. We've had a few questions for the forum too!

Hubby has just added a shelf in three of our cupboards... Such poor design and so much wasted space! Hopefully, it'll work better for us now.

We're heading out on the road to the Gaspe Peninsula (Quebec) and Newfoundland this year and Alaska is in the plans for next year, so we really thought a truck camper would work better for these trips.

As to the pressure testing- can this even be done, practically, on a pop top? Curious.

I belive that the pressure test mentioned is a leak detector presure test: Leak detector test.
