I'm new to the TC world

We have just put a down payment on a used 2011 Outfitter Apex 8 LB at Tom's Camperland and will pick it up in a few weeks.

I imagine I will have questions as I start using it, but wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I've been RVing for many years and have owned bumper pulled trailers and a Class A DP but never a TC of any kind.

I don't have any questions yet, but I'm sure there will be some. I'd love for other Outfitter owners to say hello so I'll know who might have answers to questions about this rig.

We will carry it on a 2015, Dodge 3500, crew cab, long bed, SRW truck so I'm pretty sure there won't be any weight issues.

  • I had an issue with "pristine" at Toms Camperland. We were looking at a Lance 820, pictures looked awesome, and being skeptical I had a contact down in AZ that went to check it out. Turned out to be so many exterior issues and issues covered up by the previous owner. We got our deposit back though... I hope this one is a good one for you
  • Thank you for responding and for the welcome. I'm assuming you mean a pressure test of the water system? Or are you referring to something else? Do you think the dealer is able and willing to do this?

We will do a thorough inspection, for sure, and will test all the appliances too. If it's not to our satisfaction, we can apply our deposit to a different rig, though we'd be pretty disappointed. The salesman (I know, I know) assured us that the rig was pristine. We'll see.
  • Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn & share. Congratulations on the new to you TC. May I suggest prior to sighing you do a thorough walk through making sure everything works and nothing leaks? I speak from experience on this. Maybe have them do a pressure test of the interior. This is a great way to detect leaks and fix them prior to water damage. Enjoy and happy trails
