Imagine 2800bh slide closed no access to bedroom?

I Sold my crossroads slingshot and we are now looking for a new TT.
We went to Hersey and looked at everything and at the end of the day we put money down on a Grand design imagine 2800bh
Now that we had a day to think about it, is it going to be a big deal that we can't get into the queen bed room when the slide is closed? And it's not a squeeze in, it's totally blocked by the slide.
Anyone have a camper like this that can give us their opinion
Thanks for the insite

  • Some would argue it's a simple matter to hit a switch to deploy any slide that may partially or fully block interior access of a trailer but for me it's a non-starter so I personally wouldn't own any trailer in which I couldn't enjoy complete access with the slide(s) closed in the travel position. Aside from convenience while making stops along the way to our destination we keep our rig parked here at the house, slide closed, but I'm in it pretty well every day and have no interest in having to deploy a slide each time I may want to use the camper, be it actually camping or anywhere else. • One of the pit falls of a deep slide, it has to go someplace when retracted.

We opted for a short 16" slide which allows access to all the TT features even when retracted.

My niece chose a model which blocks the bathroom when closed.

    We all have our preferences.
  • I have heard of some pop ups that have left the top down and slept on the dinette because of bad weather, but not being able to access the bedroom is totally absurd. Being able to be in and all slides in tight in a howling rainstorm is essential.
  • Deal breakers......
No access to kitchen, bathroom and/or bedroom with slides retracted.

IF I stop overnight in an unusual spot (other than a CG) I want to be able to go straight to bed.
  • I don't have one but, it would be a deal breaker for me. JMO
