The 700 lbs weight loss is in the largest configuration F-150 (4x4 Crew Cab 6.5' bed). The weight savings are smaller on the smaller sized trucks. I don't think this would hurt towing all that much. What it does allow Ford to do is increase payload, so that you're more likely to be within weight when you purchase that trailer and load up your family and gear into the bed of your truck. I believe the GVWR is still going to be between 7000 and 8000 lbs. We'll see when the specs officially drop.
