Sorry, for some reason I was thinking all z71 were 1/2 models. But yes, it's a 1500 series.
The camper I'm interested in is only 600 pounds. The truck should handle that just fine.
Upgrading to a larger truck and camper would be an unnecessary luxury in my opinion. Simply having somewhere warm and dry to sleep with somewhere to make a meal would be a heck of an upgrade over my present situation. I typically fish alone with just the company of my dog. Sometimes my dad tags along as well, so a small unit with 2 beds will be plenty.
