The timing of this post is funny. Long Long Honeymoon's last video on YouTube was about the things that went wrong on their trip to Alaska from Alabama. They pull an AirStream trailer. It looks like it has a rubber roof, from the pictures, by the way. A/C died, tongue jack died, roof leaks, water pipe leaks, fresh water tank leaked out, ... They describe an RV as being in an earthquake for 10 hours a day. And no RV will escape without stuff breaking. We aren't going to put as mucn mileage on ours as they do, but for the most part, we've never felt that our trailer is falling apart. We've only had to do minor repairs and regular maintenance on our trailers. The way I look at it, I'm not going to keep a car for 20 years. I'm going to want something new in about 5 years. Same with trailers. We'll probably go through another truck and trailer or two before we hang up our cleats.
I enjoy watching their vids. Their list of problems on the Alaska trip is a good example of the value of 6P.
Most of the failures they had are well known, documented and have proven solutions.
Of course had they not had all these troubles....the video would have been boring !
