Indoor Storage: is it worth it

I have covered storage for my Class B. Over time, a lot of stuff can deteriorate from the sun. I pay almost $200 per month; I would gladly pay an extra $50 per month if it were totally enclosed AND climate controlled.

It's not climate controlled...that's and extra $50 on top of that. That would be nice, but I'm already going over budget if I choose to do this

Well to kind of puts it in perspective --how much did you pay for your trailer --what condition is it in overall --and do you plan on keeping it or selling it ...???

these are all factors --to me $250 a month is a steep steep price for indoor storage ---but if you've got a really nice trailer and you want to keep it a lot of years you know that it would save you the cost of buying a new trailer after this one-- if you follow



Now there are other factors .....how much does it cost for storage not enclosed ,and things along that line

I've been looking at okay $250 .00 dollars a month t...hat's $3,000 a year in 3 years for about $10,000 ...just to park it!!!!

up to me-- that's way too steep

It's a brand new trailer...picking it up on Tuesday. It's an Open Range 328bhs that runs right at $50k with all items installed (satellite, Propride hitch). I do agree that it's steep, so I might just stick with the cover. I just remember using the cover on my last new camper and it had rub marks across the top portion of the front and sides. It's also a pain, but may be worth to save $$ since that parking is only $45/mo. Decisions...Decisions. I'm thinking that indoor would make since on a $100k+ camper, but maybe not for mine.

We pay $259/month for indoor storage for our new TT. The factors that make it worth it to me are:

Peace of mind, not worrying during bad weather, not worrying about break-ins
Everything lasts longer; roof, tires, decals, trim, vent covers, etc
Put it away clean, it's clean when you pick it up
Much better resale value due to better condition after several years
Much less fiberglass oxidation, rust, etc

The higher resale value and cost savings on tires and other parts destroyed by the sun may not cancel out the cost of the storage, but to me, the peace of mind and added security make up the difference.

I'd look for covered storage, but wouldn't pay for indoor storage.

Having had 5 trailers and having had both indoor and outdoor storage...it's simple for us. If we are going to own an RV, we are going to store it indoors.

You're right! I also agree about peace of mind. I have a $2,500 hitch on that thing that I'd hate to lose. With it being brand new, it may be worth the indoors.

I always stored our popups in my heated workshop but when we moved to a hybrid I had to find another option for winter storage. I thought $600 Cdn for 6 months was expensive but $250 US (~ $325 Cdn) for ONE month?!!! Holy Smokes! :E The following winter I stored outdoors and invested in an ADCO cover ... same for the next trailer, same for the next one after that. Last winter I had the opportunity to store indoors for $325 Cdn for 5 months.



Maybe if we owned a $500,000 Prevost I might consider indoor storage at $250 US a month but otherwise - not a chance. :E

Not sure where your located but here outside most of the COE parks and state parks ,, locals (farmers mostly) have put up three sided sheds as much as 200 feet long by about 30' deep and divided into 12-15 foot wide sections with a chain link gate. Its covered, usually within sight of the farmers house and will have a front gate that is on a combination lock. These guys charge anywhere from $240 to $320 for six months. Check for those or any local marinas in your area.
