Indoor Storage: is it worth it

I've always wanted indoor storage since I had it with our first TT and the condition of it remained new for the 3 years we had it. Since then we moved from that area and now I'm hard pressed to find indoor storage around me. Well there's a brand new place that opened up the road and it's $250 a month (trying to work out a deal), but here are the amenities: enclosed garage, garage door opener, and electricity in garage. The facility itself offers a dump station with water, a RV Wash station, and compressed air station.

Does anyone else pay for enclosed storage? Would you?
  • We pay $259/month for indoor storage for our new TT. The factors that make it worth it to me are:

Peace of mind, not worrying during bad weather, not worrying about break-ins
Everything lasts longer; roof, tires, decals, trim, vent covers, etc
Put it away clean, it's clean when you pick it up
Much better resale value due to better condition after several years
Much less fiberglass oxidation, rust, etc

The higher resale value and cost savings on tires and other parts destroyed by the sun may not cancel out the cost of the storage, but to me, the peace of mind and added security make up the difference.
  • It's a brand new trailer...picking it up on Tuesday. It's an Open Range 328bhs that runs right at $50k with all items installed (satellite, Propride hitch). I do agree that it's steep, so I might just stick with the cover. I just remember using the cover on my last new camper and it had rub marks across the top portion of the front and sides. It's also a pain, but may be worth to save $$ since that parking is only $45/mo. Decisions...Decisions. I'm thinking that indoor would make since on a $100k+ camper, but maybe not for mine.
  • Well to kind of puts it in perspective --how much did you pay for your trailer --what condition is it in overall --and do you plan on keeping it or selling it ...???

these are all factors --to me $250 a month is a steep steep price for indoor storage ---but if you've got a really nice trailer and you want to keep it a lot of years you know that it would save you the cost of buying a new trailer after this one-- if you follow

Now there are other factors .....how much does it cost for storage not enclosed ,and things along that line

I've been looking at okay $250 .00 dollars a month t...hat's $3,000 a year in 3 years for about $10,000 ...just to park it!!!!

up to me-- that's way too steep
  • It's not climate controlled...that's and extra $50 on top of that. That would be nice, but I'm already going over budget if I choose to do this
  • I have covered storage for my Class B. Over time, a lot of stuff can deteriorate from the sun. I pay almost $200 per month; I would gladly pay an extra $50 per month if it were totally enclosed AND climate controlled.
