So, a bit of a change of direction has been confirmed. We've ditched the travel trailer and pickup idea. Moving forward with a 26-30' Class A or C RV and a 6x12 enclosed trailer. Did a lot of window shopping Saturday morning at dealerships, which mostly taught us we will be buying private sale. With a $6-7k budget, we aren't worth anyone's time at a dealership. IF they have anything under $10k it hasn't been inspected and nothing when it comes to an emissions test.
It's important to me to find something that will pass emissions. I'm confident I could do minor repairs on the utilities (stove, sink, water pump, generator, etc) but motor/exhaust fixes get expensive quick. Because of this I will be looking almost exclusively in state.
I like dealing with private sellers. Always done well for me. Someone who can walk me through how everything works, regale me with great stories of the rig, have proof of emissions in the last two years. Cash, keys, title and away we go.
Let the hunt begin!
