Thanks for the reply . If my understanding of a resistor switch is correct what it does is lower the volts to the fan motor and waste the remainder in heat . I was wondering how they got a lower amp use at the slower speed . As you may notice this is not my strong suit . I was thinking of adding a resistor to my existing vent fan to lower the speed AND lower the amps , would this work ?
