I personally would not have used the 3m fast cure adhesive sealant. that is pretty much permanent. if that fan quites in a few years then it is going to be very difficult to remove. but that's just my opinion. what you did was a very clean install.
Also, the Fantastic fans seem to last much longer than a few years, and the fan is replaceable without removing the flange if that is ever necessary.
I would not use it on a TPO roof though until I had determined that it is compatible with that material. Removal from any sheet type roofing might be difficult, since the polyurethane may be stronger than the sheet.
