installing towel bars in bathroom

We used the 3m towel hooks. I then sewed a small piece of material across the corner of the towel to hook it over the hooks. Towels hang full length, one on each hook. It's been 8months and so far so good.

My method, if you are handy:

Cut small backing plates out of thin wood, and then route the edges.
Stain and polyurethane them to match the wood trim of your trailer.
Drill two holes in each and use countersunk tiny brass screws.
The screws are only to hold the plate to the wall which I glue using a good grade glue, and should not penetrate through the wall more than a tad.
The next day I screw the towel rack, toilet paper holder, etc to the backing plates.

You end up with a custom accessory that matches your trim.

I have done this with various items all over the trailer, and they have stayed put for over twenty thousand miles and six years now

I did this in the S&Bricks to make a solid mount for the toilet paper holder. made it out of a Plaque that I got at the artsy/fartsy store and was able to anchor that to a stud and then mount the tp holder onto that.

A lot of people here use 3M VHB tape for holding things. There are different types, widths, & thicknesses available. I got some on Amazon to hold on a piece of car trim, and it works great.

Fifteen years ago I screwed my towel rack to the bathroom wall using toggle bolt anchors. This rack has carried two towels all over the United States and Canada. Never had one bit of a problem. I don't have to worry about them falling off and taking portions of the wall with them.

Threaded anchors are another option. Put some glue on the threads and let it dry before attaching anything. Use smaller screws than specified and put some candle wax on the screws so they go in easier. If you have kids, who tend to abuse things, use molys!

Great ideas everyone as I am looking to install an extend a shower curtain rod and have been hesitant to do so! Lol

We just use the individual command strip hooks and they work well.

I bought a over the door hanging towel bar for 3 towels. Cost $18 at True Value Hardware.
