They're two of the most common vehicles on the road, therefore involved in the most accidents.
My whole problem with this is, the F-350 is only safer because it's bigger than the vast majority of cars on the road.
What if everyone drove F-350's? Then the playing field would be level again, and fatalities would go way-way up.
Also, doesn't matter if you're in a Smart FourTwo or an F-350 dually; if a tractor trailer or a dump truck hits you, you're %$#@ed either way.
We lost some good friends last summer when their Suburban, a supposedly "safe" vehicle, got pancaked between two tractor trailers.
