In TN, the trailer is covered by your auto policy when it is being towed. If it's financed, that is not sufficient for your lender....you need a policy to cover the trailer itself in the event of theft, etc. Our homeowner policy covers the contents of the trailer such as TV, personal items, etc. Our particular policy with Farm Bureau also covers additional living expenses while on the road for a given number of days if a repair is needed. The additional amount added to our auto policy which specifies the trailer and the lender requirements is $78 per 6 months.
Even if there is no lender on your trailer, strongly suggest for such a low amount that you carry it in case of theft, damage caused by whatever.
