I like using the MIFI HOT SPOT devices as this is a stand alone unit and allows us to use all of our devices at the same time... Does not tie up the cell phone service...
My MIFI unit is on the Verizon Network and gives me a secure WIFI HOTSPOT zone around my trailer that only we can use with passwords. Safe to use for checking into our bank accounts etc... I am on my M90 computer, the wife is on her HP computer, and our two tablets work just fine. Our two cellphones are NOT tied up as well...
I sit my MIFI UNIT in a WILSON CRADLE which has any outside antenna conenction which gives me a stronger signal to use and expands my local WIFI HOTSPOT better around the camp site...
My MIFI unit is one of the older ones and is only a 3GB dataplan which allows us to chat with the kids, pay our bills online, and some surfing on the internet. It is TOO small of dataplane to allow downstreaming of TV shows and videos however. You need at least a 20GB DatePlan for that... If I was going to downstream TV shows and movies I would sign up on the MILLENICOM Network which supports the 20GB dataplan and also uses the Verizon network for best coverage area.
Works great for us and no depending on the uncoovered camp ground WIFI connections that doe'nt always work. My MIFI box being on the Verizo networks works everytime for us. Even going down the road just like cell phone service does...
