I dont have one and seldom have to clean it off before retracting but thought it would be nice to have one. Recently I was in a friends rig while the wind was blowing. Very noisy and at first I thought something was being torn off the roof. Maybe there is something wrong with his???
If I was east in the trees a lot of the time it would help, out west with no trees and a lot of wind and little rain, it seems it would hurt. Friendly people keep warning me to be careful about having the awning out a lot out west. Maybe the same with hearing an awning cover banging a lot. I'll continue without one. It's never a wasted trip to the roof to keep an eye on things and wipe the panels off anyway.
