I never even considered the need to sweep off the top of my slide before retracting... I'll have to add that to my list LOL.
Anyway, I don't have a slide topper and I always have to tilt my TT to drain the standing water off the top of my slide, then level again and retract. I didn't do that once, and all the water came into the TT during the drive home since it was sitting on top of the slide, and the slide was inside the trailer doh!
I've never been on my roof with the slide out, so I'm not even sure the condition of the top of it, maybe it is completely caked in debris. I would like a roll-out cover, but my TT is almost 12 years old now and I'm not going to spend the money at this point.
