I feel it's the same way every winter... the hybrid forum is very quiet. Are we all living in snow parts of the country !!We live in Maine.....it's December 13th, and no snow on the ground or in the forecast for the next 10 days at least....El Nino! Kind of sad at times since we have a new hybrid. We look at it from our living room, walk to it, go inside , but nothing else we can do. All campgrounds are closed around here.......and temps are still in the high 40's low 50's.......sad, real sad !!!!This afternoon, I was sitting on our front porch playing guitar.....Doesn't look like winter sat all !

I was seriously planning on going out this weekend, with the mild temps. Rain didn't materialize the way they predicted either BUT my truck is not available, but don't get me started on that one... Possibly heading out for new year, if the weather holds. Hate not to take advantage of it.

Or family s super bsy in December with volunteering & Christmas stuff. Hope to getout after Christmas. Again in January. Some of our best camping memories are in whatsome call the off season

Our 5er is all zipped up for winter. Watched the snow fly today. Thinking of spring projects for next season.

Our 5th wheel sits at the edge of our back yard woods here. We can spend any number of nights in it anytime we want. I have a 20AMP shore power cable going to it from the garage which runs everything in it including the air conditioner. I just have to watch what is all tuned on at the same time otherwise it will trip the garage circuit breaker...This is a great get-away for us just sitting in the back yard...We also have a spot all done up where our OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer sits when not on the road. This has a fire pit made up of rocks etc... This is just like camping OFF-ROAD for us.. Get to hear the same night sounds here in the back yard up against the woods line. This is all run off our battery bank and I have to power up my 2KW Generator each morning to get the batteries back up which takes a few hours.This camping spot is around 200-feet from the garage 120VAC receptacle where my 5th wheel trailer is about 70-feet away.Roy Ken

Well I live in So California and I was just out this last weekend at a beach site. We enjoyed our selves but you might enjoy what happened to us and laugh too! Everything was going good got going in a good time so much so that even after stopping to pick up my wife from work at noon we got to the campgrounds and had to wait till 2pm. Got to our spot and everything was cool the beach was about 200 steps from us and we could hear the waves pounding the beach, cool right, but for here it was getting cold as the sun went down. Time to fire up the Generator and start the fire and cook dinner out side (we don't cook inside as my DW does not like the smell where she sleeps). Now this is a NO Hook up place to as the generator goes off all is good. As we head to bed later I fire up the Catalytic heater to take the chill off as it was dropping to 46 that night. Wife learned a lesson in layers on the bed, we sleep on an air mattress and she had put down a sheet and then a flannel sheet but it was still cold, found a old quilt and put that under us and that made all the difference, with 3 blankets on top we were good to go. A bit chilly in the morning but ok, off to start a fire an coffee. About 10am I start the generated to chg the battery for an hour and start our day. All went well till dark, started the generator and all was good but it soon died as I expected since I only had about 5 oz of gas left. Soon we noticed the lights going dim so off with all but the leds. After dinner we tried in side to light the stove for some hot water, No gas, what was that about, 2 tanks and hardly used so far. Then I remembered my friend saying he felt heat on as it was sitting in my drive way and went to turn it off, just did not think that it may have fun for days before that. So now we site with no electricity and no propane, water but no pump. Luckily I had some bottled water for the toilet. Also since no propane no Refrigerator so we did quickly move everything to the freezer. So before our next trip in Jan 2016 I have to fill both tanks of propane and ck the battery. Oh by the way it was only 50 over night the second night so it was not that bad and 70 during the day. By the way were in El Nino? Not much rain here yet. So yes some of us are still camping and there was one other Hybrid camper there.

When I backed my trailer in next to the house about a month ago there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground. Since then, we've gotten about 2 feet more of snow. It really hasn't gotten "cold" here yet as the lowest temps we've seen have been in the mid to low teens. Pretty much what I s aw when using the trailer during hunting in Nov.

But, there's about a three foot wall of snow in front of the trailer, a drift in front of the door about the same height and we had a high of about 25 today.

Yep, my camping is done for the year. Still have a couple of hunts to do but I won't be using the trailer!

It has certainly been warm enough around the Cleveland, OH area for people to take out their RV's, but most folks have them tucked away for the winter, and a lot of campgrounds are closed for the season. But with Christmas rapidly approaching, DW and I can look forward to hitting the road at the end of February and we're heading to Florida to get a break from winter! And with no major long trip planned for this spring/summer, we look forward to doing more frequent outings to nearby places we like to explore.

Enjoy your vacation in Florida, and like you, next summer will be a lot of small four day week end trips in the area (Maine}.
We do have the first week of July planned in Old Orchard Beach where my family from Montreal will join us, like they do every year.

We were planning on going to Prince Edward Island in August, but that will be for next year.

I keep saying that I should make good use of this warm New England weather and inspect the roof before winter, but in reality I will probably end up doing it when it is 3 degrees out, swearing at myself for not doing it now...
