Aug 08, 2016Technically if it hasn't been registered then its still considered new. I've had plenty of dealers offer me a night in one of their new units as an enticement to buy. So I wouldn't immediately declare a unit used because it helped someone make a decision. Sort of like all those test drives that happened by others before you purchased a vehicle.
It would be one thing if they said it was a potential customer, but they admitted that it was one of their buddies. That means they are going to be a lot more lenient with their buddy than they would be with a stranger. Questions start swirling around your head like, "How often did they do this with this unit," or, "How hard did they use this thing?" I wouldn't necessary walk away from the deal, but I would definitely use that little slip of the tongue to my advantage money wise lol. You have to remember that you can pay the same amount of money and get one that came straight from the factory. One good thing is that his buddy probably found all the major kinks in the system already lol.
