Is it normal for a new TT to have been used?

I'd 'call' that manufacturer to let them know they are using NEW RV's on their dealership lot. The manufacturer can 'pull' their ticket to be able to sell their product. AND that has been done before.

Still can't believe the salesman was that stupid to tell you they were using it when they are NOT supposed to be doing that.

This is your and my opinion and nothing more. The dealer can do what ever they want when it belongs to them. Never titled until sold. You are also wrong on demo cars. I was given new cars as demos for years as a bodyshop manager and we used them for everything for our family and me to drive back and forth to work. A test drive is NOT a demo.

I'm not saying that anyone should gladly accept one of these units as new, but they're still considered new by definition. I'm of the camp of save money wherever you can. I'd use this little slip up to my advantage. Even if it's just $500. That's $500 less I have to pay.

Down here new actually does have a definition for cars.

"New motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle that has not been the subject of a retail sale regardless of the mileage of the vehicle.

If it hasn't been previously sold or registered before then its sold as "new". Loaner and demo cars are still sold as "new" since they have not been previously sold. All incentives and rebates still apply just as it would with a car that had 0 miles. Typically the warranty starts on the date of purchase at the current odometer reading.

That's how it works in most states. If a year old demo was up for sale with 5,000 miles then it's still a "new" vehicle. A few states place mileage limits on their new definition, but you're still talking about several thousands of miles until you hit that limit. Works the same with RVs. Even if 20 potential customers spent a night in it to test it out, it's still considered new until someone buys it.

Not in my book. It's still a "used" RV. All that not being registered means is that it hasn't be pre-owned. :R

On our way to Yellowstone a few weeks ago I was in a truck stop parking lot parked next to a small class A that was being delivered and as we were eating dinner I could see the guy all set up at the dinette eating dinner with a sleeping bag spread out on the couch.

In the end, New Used or Demo, the TT is worth what the dealer will accept for it.

Is an RV Show model a demo? How about the units you walk through in the dealers show room?

How many test drives did the new car you bought have in it?

I still think loaning it out and calling it new is kind of cheesy but again it is the dealer's call not mine.

Knowing that it was loaned out puts it into the used category to me.
