Sounds good on paper but in reality you are wrong, the engine weight is placed directly over the front axle very little goes to the rear. FACT is almost ALL the pin weight from a 5er goes on the rear axle. With 5,800# pin I only transfer about 100# to my front axle.
Op load your truck with family, hitch, tools, fuel etc ready to tow. Weigh your rear axle. Take that number from what the MAX load of your rear tires are. THAT is what your pin weight can be. Take that number X 5 that will be what the GVWR of the RV can be at 20 percent pin. If you are a weekend warrior 20 will be a good number. Full timer take the difference X 4 that will be 25 percent pin.
It's pretty darn simple!!!
