Sounds good on paper but in reality you are wrong, the engine weight is placed directly over the front axle very little goes to the rear. FACT is almost ALL the pin weight from a 5er goes on the rear axle. With 5,800# pin I only transfer about 100# to my front axle.
Payload = GVWR - Curb Weight.
And Curb Weight includes the engine.
Payload is everything left over including you, wife, kids, dog, firewood, tools, and the pin weight. It's that simple!!!
And that is exactly what that little yellow sticker says "Maximum weight of passengers and cargo shall not exceed ____ lbs". And "cargo" includes the pin weight.
