Is my Ram 2500 a wimp or am I missing something here?

In many states, weight and weight class restrictions apply only to commercial vehicles. This is the case in MI, where GVW only matters if your truck is used commercially, AND weighs more than 8,000 lb. The manufacturer's GVWR matters not at all for licensing purposes.
