This may not be entirely true. My 13' 2500 duramax has the 10,000 payload, my buddies '14 GMC 2500 gasser has a 9,500 payload. So it's closer than the weight of the engine. Dan
Neither one of your trucks has anywhere close to a 9,000 lbs. payload rating. Read the definition of "payload rating". While you're at it you may want to look up the definition of GVWR and curb weight. Then have that discussion about what's "entirely true" or not. You're comparing apples to grapes.
