I do not now, nor have ever had OnStar.
My son has had it on two different trucks. The first one, OnStar kept notifying him that his odometer was broken. Problem was, he was in Afghanistan and his truck was in my driveway. I used it every week for a few miles and they thought he was having an intermittent failure of the odometer. The second truck was in the body shop for a minor dent. After 3 weeks of excuses of why it wasn't fixed, they figured out that the shop was using it for errands. OnStar just provides data, how you use the data can make it a good tool or not.
