Is Ram's 4-Corner Air Suspension worth it?

I'm wondering if Ram's 4-Corner Air Suspension worth the $1795 list price?

I've never had a truck with air bags or air suspension. I've read good and bad things about the 4 Corner Air Suspension system. It seems expensive. Is it worth the money or should consider aftermarket air bags instead?

Thanks
  • I’d do the test drive. An air suspension A rides way better than a sprung A.

3500 Spring trucks ride horrible on rough roads.
  • Lincoln had it on their Town Cars for years ('90 till they killed off the TC line. Was rear only and worked GREAT! Peterbilt had it once on their front susp years back and it didn't last long (what's that tell ya?). I would have loved it if Ford offered it on their SD line like Ram. If I was to get a Ram, I'd def opt for the rear air only from factory.
  • I've recently been shopping and test drove the new 1500 both ways. Seat of the pants impression I could not feel the difference. They both have a really nice ride.
  • I have a 2015 with the air ride, it is the wife's truck, we love it. You can squat it for easier access to the bed, it has 2 off road heights for clearance, it automatically lowers approx. 1 1/2" at speeds over 65 mph for fuel economy. Just a great ride all around
  • I have had a 4x4 air ride 1500 for almost 5 years, 50k miles and never had any trouble out of it. The ride is great for a 4x4 and I can lower it so the DW can get in a lot easier. I will get another when the time comes.
