Is there a correct angle for tie downs??

With my Dodge 3500, my front tie downs will be at a slight angle pulling forward. Because of the dully fenders I will have to be using a rail to move the rear tie down anchors on the TC further back, so I have the option of where to position the rear tie down.
Do I want it ...Pulling the TC forward.....Pulling straight down......or pulling the TC Back.
I am inclined to think the rear tie down should be also pulling forward..
btw my TC is 8' in an 8' bed with no rear overhang

thanks

  • this is what Torklift says about it in their installation instructions.

"Your TorkLift tiedown inserts have offset
triangular brackets to increase the angle of pull. These are designed to be
used in the front facing forward, and the rear facing rearward but can be
used in either front or rear. These recommendations are to be considered
and followed as a basic rule of thumb. Obviously there will be some applications
where this may not be possible. At a minimum, if opposite pull of
both front and rear tiedowns cannot be achieved for whatever reason, you
should have at least a forward pull at the front or rear location."

    I was wrong.

  • Rear pulling rearward. Front pulling forward.

    Edited: Because I was wrong.
