If "ride quality" is high on your list of "have to have", then stick with the half ton...they are sprung for lesser weights...therefore ride quality a 'bit' better
If towing performance is high on your list of "have to have", then get the next higher class TV...they are sprung for higher weights...therefore ride quality is a 'bit' harder
Suggest comparing their ratings instead of marketing stuff

A higher numeric diff will have more torque multiplication, so will have a higher tow rating
Locking is better than an open diff and/or limited slip diff
Forget about MTWR (Max Tow Weight Rating), as it is derived from a 'curb' (AKA stripper model) that just about no one ever orders...except for moderator Marty...
