as some of you may have read I just purchased my first TT and I noticed last night while walking around it felt kind of unstable. Looking under the TT I noticed that it has no scissor jacks to level it out or even keep it stable. All it has is the crank on the tongue up front...nothing underneith at 4 corners to keep it stable....is this unusual? any suggestions on aftermarket stuff that I could buy to remedy this issue?

Older trailers did not have them.Go to any rv dealer you can get them or go online ebay ,tweetys ,camping world ,adventure rv.There are several styles and types the most common are scissor jacks

Unless it's like a tear drop (but then you would not be walking around in it) that has not had some sort of stabilizer system (legs or jacks).

So, you have a couple of options. You can take your unit to an authorized dealer with a service department and have them weld on stabalizers. Or use jacks but I think that would become a hassle. The service department may not charge you for the welding if you buy the stabalizers from them. We have some trailrunners at our lot that dont have stabalizers on them and are brand new. It is done that way to cut down on some of the cost for the customer on the front end, but later they run into the same problem and end up needing stabalizers. If you purchased new, speak to the dealer and see if they wont add them for you. If your unit is older, go with my initial suggestions.Good Luck

That is a little unusual but would depend on the trailer. What year, make and model TT is it? As others have said the scissor jacks are readily available. Welcome to the forum.

he did say that there was a bag of levelers in the compartment below the beds but they look like square yellow lego type things and not the standard jacks that i've seen to help support the corners of other travel trailers....are those the ones you are talking about?

Have you checked all the compartments? Some people used small stackable stands that had a screw with a handle and a nut. You'd place it on a board and screw it up against the frame. A simple little jack screw.

A friend of mine had the same year trailer I believe and they came with jacks, but you had to slide them into place. He would remove them after camping and store them. IDK maybe something to look in too.

We had the smaller jack stands (4) on our first two trailers, worked fine and stored them in one of the outside compartments. Not much more trouble than the attached scissor jacks we have now.

If you go to the junk yard ask for ones that came out of trucks. One out of a small honda car may not reach the bottom of your trailer.

thanks everyone for the great replies....as stated I won't use them cor leveling the ultimate purpose I will be using them for is stabilization....

I did something similar on my 1993 TT that came without stabilizer jacks. Except I didn't attach mine I place them under the frame while using the TT and store them in a compartment during travel.

Was just about to say the same thing. Stab's are NOT for leveling. Using for leveling will likely compromise the stab jacks. They are not designed orr built for leveling.

Also, when you're using stabilizer jacks, you might find that you have more movement.

To get rid of this, try BAL-X-Chocks:
