The 4r100 is an automatic transmission not a manual. And as others said it was not durable. Some may have had luck with them, many like me didn't. My '99 lost the trans at 47000 miles with most miles towing near gross weight and most in Colorado. I had a Jasper rebuilt put in it at a cost of $3500 while on a trip. It seemed like a better trans but I traded the truck soon after so I can't say if it wuold have lasted longer.
