- mountainkowboyExplorerIt had 91K on the clock when I got her with a complete history in paper and spreadsheet form, I was her 3rd owner. We average 9.5-10.5 with the S&S, if I slow down to 55 mph I can get into 13-14 mpg range. But my wife hasn't retired yet, so all our trips have time restraints....lol, so I'm usually doing 65-75 mph. My son isn't a gear-head like me, so she doesn't look as pretty as when I had her, he makes sure she's mechanically perfect.
- jaycocreekExplorer IIYa,it's hard to find a good used 3500/350 that hasn't been abused to the third degree or very high mileage and if you do,they want an arm and a leg for them.I looked for months before finding mine and a 400 mile round trip to get it..
I was pleasantly surprised at the 460 EFI getting right at 14 mpg(13.6) going to Hamilton Montana up and over the pass empty and even more, that it got 11.6 on the way home with the Lance 9.6 with full tank of water/propane/generator(Honda) and basically loaded after a trip to the Missoula Walmart with the wife filling up the cupboards.
S&S has a very good reputation around here.I just could not find one or a Northland, that was also on my short list for used TC's in excellent shape and in my price range.I did find a Lance that a guy bought from grandma who kept it in a barn and found out he was to tall to be comfy in it and decided to sell.
Congrats on getting your old rig back..Good used units are hard to find! - mountainkowboyExplorer

Congrats..I have came back to TC camping to many times..I haven't bought any of my old campers back so choosing probably my last TC was a long process to get it right..
Were in the same ball park in age..Mine a 1994 F-350 DRW/1990 Lance 480...They only get better with age.:B
We rebuilt the S&S 7 years ago http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25001739/print/true.cfm and replaced all the rot and did some upgrades and they've only put a couple of thousand miles on the truck since they bought it. So I know the history on both of them, the truck was a cream puff when I bought it. - jaycocreekExplorer IICongrats..I have came back to TC camping to many times..I haven't bought any of my old campers back so choosing probably my last TC was a long process to get it right..

- Kayteg1Explorer III am explorer and like to buy new toys just to see what they offer.
That said, I still have sweat spot for my first ClassC that I sold 27 years ago.
Enjoy your "re-new rig" - LadyRVerExplorer IICongrats! I bought back a fifth wheel I previously owned. Carpet stain still there.. LOL. Put in the name, model # and for sale and it brought it up at a dealer on the east coast of FL. I went to see it that day and bought it.
- work2muchExplorerLook forward to seeing the new plans!
