Of course this thread has to turn into a Ford bashing thread. As APT stated, J2807 does not take into consideration available payload when it puts tow ratings on a particular vehicle.
Ford has used them on the F150/F450 since 2015 MY.

But most RVers have 250/2500 or 350/3500 class trucks - gotta love those ford ads about having best in class towing/payload.
