J2807 SAE towing standards
Do all trucks, all models follow the standards now?

Who really cares. All marketing. Whether you use J2807 or not. Most are not achievable without exceeding payload.
For example, Ram 1500 ED, Std cab 8" box, payload 1290, SAE rating 9030. Pretty hard to hook a 9K trailer or 5th wheel with 1290 payload.
Have you actually seen ads for the super duty saying best in class towing? I don't recall any.
They do for the F150, GVWR under 8500lbs.

But most RVers have 250/2500 or 350/3500 class trucks - gotta love those ford ads about having best in class towing/payload. wrote:
