I've owned a Buick made in Germany by Opel.
I've owned a German Opel Kadett, made by Isuzu in Japan, sold as a Buick.
I've owned a Saab that was made in Japan by Subaru.
I've owned a Ford, designed by Mazda, made by Kia in South Korea.
I've owned a GM product (Geo), made by Suzuki.
..and a bunch of other cars, many made in America, some in Canada, two more from South Korea, and some like my current Ram, in Mexico, by a supposedly Italian company.
Country of manufacture is on the list of factors, but it falls below capability, fuel economy, price, performance, comfort, available options, handling, and a few other criteria. Political statements won't get me up a hill faster, or make my butt feel better at the end of a 10 hour drive.
