Jayco has been around a long time and Jay Flight has been the number one selling line of TTs for the past 8 years, so if there is something inherently wrong with their production process they've fooled a lot of people. As far as I know, every manufacturer out there builds travel trailers on an assembly line...nobody (that I know of) builds them one at a time from the ground up.
As far as the materials used in construction (wood, aluminum, fiberglass, whatever) there are pros and cons for all of them. One of the big factors is cost. Just doing a quick search of RV Trader, for about the same price of 20' 2014 LANCE 1685 Travel Trailer I can buy the 35', Jay Flight 33 RLDS (the one we've settled on). AND, if I do the maintenance, this Jay Flight will outlast me.
