I’m 65 years old and do not believe the TOTAL demise of existing petroleum based vehicles will happen in my lifetime. However new electric vehicles for personal transportation will become the norm. As battery technology improves, charging times are reduced, miles between charging are increased, electric will be more accepted. Many countries have already called for the end of production of petroleum based vehicles. Metropolitan areas will go first, rural areas have issues that need to be addressed. But they will be.
