I'm not updated myself but I read sometime ago that Tesla's plan is to eventually have their charging stations cut-off from the grid with their own solar sources.
Ya that’ll work great during short northern winter days with the sun low on the horizon and lots of cloud cover.
I'm not about to solve Tesla's problem for them but if their Australian installation is a model, they can partner with wind farm or have their battery arrays that is able to power up a city of 30,000 homes.
And I'm glad that our high tech centers in California are not manned by Mr Magoos "it can't be done" and not finding problems to every solution.
It will likely work well in many places but wind and solar have their limits in many other places.
