Some discussion about how the less well off that park on street or parking lots can charge. Look at time line. Most buy at the newest a 3 YO of lease car. For many, the car is 10 or more when they get it. And most of them never buy the highest priced cars. Until the E cars come down in price to the point where the decision to by is based solely on whether or not the new car buyers needs, it will not be possible to sell 25% of new cars as electric. So, likely at least 5 years after 25% of new sells is electric, they will start to move into the poorer neighbourhoods. And in that time, many more self driving cars will be working for ride hailing companies, so the price to use them will come down. Might mean fewer cars parked on the street. And the power companies, looking at the number of people could put in charge stations like some cities put in parking meters. Park for night, swipe card, hook to car.
For the guy was talking about charging his, his wife's and his kids car. If the car has a 300 mile range, and you drive 30 miles a day, charge it once a week.
