Jay Leno predicts demise of vehicles running on gas.

Do you see the same?

It is relevant to us with Tesla's plan to release their pick-up with the same towing capabilities as F150 and their soon-to-be-launched semis that I'm sure manufacturers can modify into RVs.

Jay Leno added that currently, there is no more reasons for people to buy mid-range luxury gas-fed cars as its performance is matched by mid-level electric cars and entry-level Tesla and so much economical to run and maintain.

  • Little doubt that internal combustion engines will fade into oblivion only to be seen in museums. In my lifetime? No. In my granchildren’s lifetime? Possibly.
  • It doesn't matter. The world is going to end in 12 years. :)

OK, I will offer my expert analysis, which shouldn't have been that hard to grasp. a demise of vehicles running on gas, yep, some day maybe.

  • Nor do I think he knows any more about the demise of the fossil fueled motor vehicle than I do.

Good. I won't miss gas stations one bit.

And flunking few hundred dollars for fewer hundred miles each stop, lol.

Actually, Jay Leno should be a champion for gas cars having tons of collections of 'em that should boost it's value if he is not predicting it will soon be obsolete (well, maybe boosting its value as rarer collectibles). I don't know myself except I ended waiting out for Tesla pick-up when my original plan was to buy an F150 as replacement for my current vehicle.

My choice is from practical standpoint that Tesla pick up might come out more economical with no worries for gas, lower maintenance costs with the same towing capabilities.

  • Does he have all the same qualifications as the experts that have predicted the end of the world over the years? Seems were all doomed for one reason or another and it never happens.

Not saying fuel based engines will be around for ever but right now there are EV charging stations running on diesel gensets and until they make a 3/4 ton truck that can pull a travel trailer 700 miles in one day I'm hanging on to my oil burner.
  • Oh well, if a movie actor can become a president in the USA, why can't a comedian become a prophet. (as in someone who can foresee the future and not someone who makes money) I don't put any stock in what comedians, movie actors, or gossip magazines have to say or offer. Maybe in New York City or San Franciso the need for power vehicles is not there, but for the billions of us who live in Rural America, well... our demand is just too great!
