Yikes!!! I'm glad she is on the mend! I hope it continues and the woozyness goes away and there is no other damage. DO keep a watch on here though!

I am very impressed with your knowledge and willingness to share it with all of us..

I had no idea that there was a forum like this on RV.net. Several members of my close family are in the medical field... but they aren't into RV's and understanding our often unique problems as we are taking care of our ourselves in our RV's.

I know how important it is to have reminders like you gave Super Dave... we tend to trust medical clerks and insurance companies (even medical staff) to do the right thing... especially when far from home while we are traveling.

I (we) now have a place to ask... to get feedback.

We actually went to the ER the day it happened and they did absolutely nothing. The day after, she went to her own doctor and they just said to come back if it got worse. Guess what after my insistence an appointment came up after I reminded her it was a STAT CT. Remember with today's healthcare the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

If you have an HMO the doctors can request a Direct Referral and bypass all the approval******especially when there is a neurological change in a patient who has had a big fall. I'm glad she's doing better keep us posted.

Shame on the ER doctor for not ordering that immediately.

Hope she mends quickly. Now remember...she cannot do any housework for 2 months. Get moving on the laundry, dishes, dusting and she would like a hot fudge sundae.

I had carried a load of the boxes into the house and when I came out is when I found her laying in the street. She had pulled the bedding off and was trying to get it into the laundry room before I came back with the empty boxes. I know the next time a debate thread starts about taking the camper off the truck while camping, I'll have a story about the safety of having it as close to the ground as possible.

That's precisely what we do. Mostly because it's easier than both of us climbing up an down, back and forth. This is one of the few downsides IMO to a TC. In fact, it can be a downright pain

Our grand daughter had a concussion & the specialist said to put her in a dark room with absolutely no stimulation....no TV, reading, music, absolutely nothing. He said that any stimulation can delay healing of the brain. They should be kept quiet for a few days to a week at least. I don't think most folks understand how serious a concussion can be, even some doctors.
It cannot be business as usual, NO STIMULATION is the byword.

Thanks for all the well wishes. She is still a little woozy but her appetite is at least back.

Our daughter was yelling at my wife about getting the CT scan regardless of whether the insurance had approved it or not. And honestly, we were unaware of any walk in off the street CT "stores" available to us.
