No travel for us. We went on our first trip just a few weeks ago. When we returned I was looking through the stack of mail. On the very bottom was a jury duty summons for my wife. She is on call for jury duty for the entire month of July. There goes our summer, or at least a good chunk of it.

Perhaps a simple phone call to the county officials with you travel plans may get your JURY DUTY moved to a later time.Have found the county folks are really human in these matters around here.Roy Ken

My wife and I have both served on Jury's or at least started the process, but we have also contacted them and informed them that we have important plans during that time and have always been able to get out of it. They simply place you back in the system for a later date and it is usually much later.

It is one of the costs for the society we live in... In my County, you need to be 70+ or dying to get out of selection.

I was notified of jury duty a couple of years ago while I was wintering in Florida. I called them up and they postponed it to the following summer. The county that I'm in allows one postponement with no questions asked.

It is possible to get excused in some locations. It would be worth a try
